2025

On 6th June, Juwan Giken held the ‘2023 Juwan Phoenix Battery Technology Launch’ to officially launch the Juwan Phoenix Battery, which is equipped with the XFC Extreme Charging Technology. Equipped with the XFC extreme charging technology, the Phoenix Battery can achieve a charging time of no more than 10 minutes from 0-80% under all weather conditions (6 minutes at 8C charging rate), and ensures that the vehicle's range will not be compromised under all weather conditions (especially low temperatures).
 Phoenix Battery is a universal technology, applicable to all electric vehicles, and mainly solves the problem of high-speed charging capability of electric vehicles. Juwan GIKEN has adopted a number of technological innovations to achieve the goal of universal high-speed charging:
1) High-performance thermal management technology: Phoenix Battery is based on an original lightweight ultra-high thermal conductivity low-dimensional material, which makes extreme use of the heat exchange area of the electric core and builds a three-dimensional thermal management system, so that the heat exchange area can be increased by 18 times compared with the traditional solution, and the temperature control rate, efficiency and quality can be improved many times, so that the extreme cooling and heating can be completed in a safe and controllable range, and the extreme cooling and heating can be achieved in 5 minutes from -20℃ to +25℃, even in winter. Even in winter, it can still warm up the car from -20℃ to +25℃ in 5 minutes, which greatly improves the performance of the whole car and user experience; 2) All-in-one magazine structure technology: Phoenix Battery adopts a unique all-in-one magazine structure, which puts the battery cell in a compact magazine. This design not only greatly improves the thermal management performance of the battery, but also significantly enhances the battery's impact and penetration resistance. The innovation of structural design can make the system volume utilisation rate as high as 75%, which comprehensively improves the battery formation rate and safety protection ability; 3) Bus Voltage Rise and Fall Switching Matrix Technology: Phoenix Battery is equipped with an innovative, highly-integrated solid-state switching matrix and intelligent control system, which can realise the free rise and fall of the battery voltage, and the XFC high-speed charging can be achieved in the range of the vehicle voltage platform from 300 to 1000 volts. For the common 400V electrical architecture, Phoenix Battery can still automatically realise XFC high-speed charging at 800V and daily operation at 400V without changing the original architecture of the vehicle, thus breaking the constraints of the vehicle voltage platform on the application of high-speed charging technology, and significantly improving applicability.
Phoenix Battery, a high-speed charging battery with safety + long range + long life + low cost, enhances the competitiveness of new energy vehicles in the automotive market and boosts the penetration rate of new energy vehicles.
 1) Both active/passive safety. Phoenix battery reduces the probability of thermal runaway and provides early warning function through extreme thermal management and high-precision monitoring and control technology, effectively preventing overcharging, overcurrent and other safety hazards.
At the same time, the use of ultra-high thermal conductivity low-dimensional materials and bullet-proof safety protection design, even if the thermal runaway of the electric core occurs, it can be effectively contained in the bullet-proof compartment to achieve rapid cooling and prevent the spread of fire; 2) Long range + long life. The energy density of the Phoenix battery system reaches 260Wh/kg, the volume utilisation rate of the system reaches 75%, and the battery can last up to 1000km on a single charge. The battery pack has a cycle life of up to 10 years or 800,000 kilometres under the full life cycle of high-speed fast charging;

(3) The cost of the extreme speed battery cell is the same as that of the ordinary battery cell, and the subsequent modular maintenance is more economical. Phoenix Battery's electric core is its previously developed electric core with extreme charging capability, and the cost of the electric core has basically not increased compared to the existing ordinary batteries. After the large-scale promotion and application, there will be no significant increase in cost for users. Based on the advanced modular design concept, Juwan Phoenix Battery has a better system structure design, which makes system maintenance more convenient and brings about lightweight and cost reduction of the whole battery pack.
Juwan Technology & Research's layout of fast charging network makes charging more convenient than refuelling, and the infrastructure first opens a new era of high-speed charging for new energy vehicles. 17 May 2022, Juwan Technology & Research signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Teco to promote high-speed charging technology and layout of the nationwide network of high-speed charging infrastructure, and 10 XFC supercharging stations built by the two sides were officially put online in Guangzhou, and it is planned to cooperate with Teco in Guangdong, Hainan and other places by the end of 2023, with a focus on the development of the charging infrastructure in Guangdong, Hainan and other places. By the end of 2023, the two parties plan to jointly promote no less than 300 XFC supercharging stations in Guangdong and Hainan, and 1,000 supercharging stations nationwide by the end of 2025.
Juwan GIK has platform and technology advantages as it is backed by GAC Group; in terms of market development, it has opened up the market in cooperation with GAC EAN. Founded in September 2020, GWT is the first privately-held mixed ownership high-tech enterprise incubated by GAC Group. Its shareholding structure is designed to enable the company to obtain the maximum support from GAC Group, but also to face third-party OEM customers, and to follow the path of independent marketisation. in September 2021, Juwan's XFC high-speed batteries will be mounted on GAC's AION models, realising the world's first mass-production of XFC high-speed batteries, and the 15-minute and 7.5-minute versions of the batteries have already been mounted on GAC's AION V Plus, and the next models of AION will be equipped with them. The 15-minute and 7.5-minute versions have already been installed in the GAC AION V Plus, and the next models of AION will be equipped with supercharging as standard. In addition, Juwan has also entered into cooperation with Hechuang Automobile, Boreton, Skyworth Automobile and others to accelerate the market application of XFC high-speed batteries.
Juwan's future production capacity is planned to be 120GWh, and the Phoenix battery is expected to be installed in vehicles by the end of 2024. The first production base of Juwan is the production base of Juwan Technology and Research (Nansha) for energy storage devices and systems, with a planned annual capacity of 8GWh, and trial production will start at the end of September 2023, and the Phoenix battery will be installed at the end of 2024 to support vehicles. Phoenix battery will be mass-produced in Nansha base in 2024, and is expected to be loaded with vehicles by the end of 2024.
